Konban was on my list of restaurants to try for a long time, and I finally went with one of my friends. We ordered the corn ribs, the mackerel sushi, pork loin katsu, mazemen, and both desserts. The katsu was our favorite, but everything was delicious. The corn ribs were a bit hard to eat though, and our corn dessert was a bit frozen when it came out and harder to eat than I'd like. Otherwise, I highly recommend and I did say it lived up to the hype.

I came here with my sister for lunch and it was a great experience! The restaurant is a bit hidden from the street, you have to walk through a gate to the back. The interior is beautiful, with a gorgeous Japanese rock garden. We had a reservation so we were promptly seated in the back main room which was bright and cheery. For food, we ordered the corn rib, mackerel sushi, menchi katsu, tenderloin katsu, spinach udon, and yuzu pomelo coconut sorbet. Everything was amazing! The corn rib tastes a bit like elote, and was delicious if a bit hard to eat since you eat it like a rib. The Sabazushi (mackerel sushi) was super flavorful and generous with the portion. I'm a huge fan of mackerel and really enjoyed this. The Menchi Katsu is juicy and succulent... definitely get this! I was on the fence about ordering this bc of the minced meat, but it ended up being my favorite bite! The tenderloin katsu was also good- the crispy panko exterior really makes this extraordinary. I also liked how you can customize this with various dipping sauces and truffle salt that they give you. The spinach udon was fine- noodles were chewy and it had a nice simple broth to wash down all the delicious fried katsu. You definitely come here for the katsu over the udon though. The yuzu coconut dessert was super refreshing and the presentation was very cute. We were tempted by the corn ice cream (mostly for the aesthetic), but it seemed to be mostly a chocolate shell, and saw some tables that left and didn't finish theirs so we went with the shaved ice. Overall would definitely recommend getting the Menchi Katsu and Mackerel sushi. Service is also super attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend.

The food was soooo good. The corn ribs and shishito peppers were our favorite sides. The seasoning on the corn is like crack. I could put that on everything. The fish was cooked perfectly. The chicken and pork were fried well, batter is yummy. The sauces that came with the dishes paired nicely. Will be coming back for more and to try new things! Service was also great. We got seated right away since we had a reservation. Our server was attentive, checked in on us, and each dish was introduced to us. The ambiance was so peaceful, nicely decorated, and clean. The restaurant is tucked away on the street but there is a sign by the entrance.

We came here for my husband's birthday on a Friday night and this place was packed. Definitely make a reservation. It seems that there are many 2 person tables and not many for larger groups (unless they push the tables together). We ordered the: - Corn Ribs - Very fun and flavorful. - Pork Tenderloin Katsui - So juicy and tender. A must - Konkatsu - This was like ground pork. Very flavorful but if I had to only order one i would order the Pork Tenderloin Katsui. - Mazeman Noodles - Chewy with a nice kick. I wish there was more! - Corn Ice cream. This was fun with a nice crunchy texture outside. something to try once but I wouldnt order more than 1. We also ordered a bottle of sake and they let you choose your own sake cup. While the sake was delicious, it ended up costing the same as all our food altogether.
